Hazmat, Restricted or Dangerous Goods

Ultimately the shipper is responsible for the identification of any goods deemed dangerous by a transporter or regulatory body.  Complicating the identification of hazmat goods is that some products are restricted and regulated for a particular mode of transport, but are exempt for a different mode.   Further the transportability of a product can be affected by the packaging or amount of product being shipped.

As a general starting point, for information on restricted products, we direct shippers to the US Postal Service Restricted Products.   However, the US Postal Service has a number of products that it will not ship that other carriers WILL SHIP if properly packaged and marked.
